How do you cope with your mom feeling hurt by you and crying over your tattoo? Please don’t bash my mom, she’s never reacted like this over anything I’ve done. 1st time I’ve seen her feel this much disappointment/heartbreak. I don’t feel pretty anymore.

“You know I don’t like them and you did it anyway.” I didn’t do it to hurt her at all so I don’t know how to even process that kind of accusation. I want to make her feel better just as much as I want to regain my confidence.

“You know I don’t like them” my mom said the same thing when I started getting piercings. She said I looked like a bull when I got my septum. Now that my mom has adjusted she compliments the jewelry I get for my piercings. You have to live your life by your standards. It sucks that your mom isn’t happy with it but at the end of the day it’s your body and her opinion. Maybe one day she’ll come around but as long as you love your tattoo that’s all that matters💕

If you like it that’s all that matters! I know it probably hurts that she reacted like that but tattoos weren’t as accepted until fairly recently. She will come around to it. You are pretty regardless of what she says

You can’t make her feel better, she’s a grown woman and needs to get over it. Its your body not hers. If she doesn’t like them she doesn’t have to get them, that doesn’t mean you can’t You can still be pretty without your mother’s approval and if anything i found more confidence after i got more tattoos.

This is a classic example of pushing your own boundaries on someone else. Just cause she doesn’t like something doesnt mean she has to force you to not like it too yknow
