
I’ll also add- you really do pay for what you get. Cheaper tattoos are often worse quality. Do your research. Check their portfolio bc ideally you want to find an artist that specializes in what you’re looking to get. Also if you can ask if they have any healed photos. It’s great to see how their work holds up with time
it really depends on how much time your artist expects to spend on the tattoo and how much of the share they get. my artist has a 60/40 split for his spot in the studio. torso tattoos also cost more because they are not advertised. i had a coworker pay a few grand for a half sleeve that wasn’t very visible, but the total work being done ended up at nearly 20 hours just in the chair. who knows how long he spent drawing and planning the tattoo?
