I’ve had my helix for 2 years and it still isn’t 100% healed. It doesn’t appear infected, there’s minimal crust, but every time I move the piercing too much or try to swap it out i get a pinching feeling & the area swells and goes red. What should I do???

Sometimes helixes just don’t heal, or take WAYYY longer to heal. If you’re swapping jewelry I highly recommend using saline daily! It could just be irritated from the swap!

I tried swapping out the piercing today, and my ear turned bright red and a little swollen. The piercing has progressively gotten better/more healed over the 2 years I’ve had it, but I can’t wrap my mind around why it refuses to heal all the way. I love my piercing and I REALLY want to keep it, but I don’t want to risk an infection 😭. I’ve never had anything other than my lobes pierced before so I’m still not 100% sure what’s normal
