i have been wanting so badly to get back into reading. i used to read tons growing up, but since puberty my ADHD has made it so hard to just pick up a book. i made a goal to read 12 books this year and i’ve only read 1. i just don’t know what to do atp :(

Find shorter books to read that can hold your attention!!! You can also try to read things online rather than having a physical book in your hands. I find when I have a physical book and I can SEEE how big it is I get intimidated and don’t want to finish it. Reading online lets u just kinda read however much without really knowing how long the book is

I’m in the same boat! I also have ADHD and I’ve also wanted to read a lot, but I’ve barely read anything. Something that’s helped a little is listening to audiobooks, so when I do some stuff like laundry or driving, I can also be listening/reading too. Other than that, sometimes I literally have to force myself to read instead of bed rot on my phone

i felt the same way but something i realized is the books i read growing up were desiGNEd to be fast reads and easy to digest. i still love my adult fiction but im a shameless YA (and even kids books!) reader because it feels good to finish them quickly and i love nostalgia

I love reading normal books, but I fly through manga so easily. So maybe find a good manga to enjoy and that can help transition you back into normal books
