I honestly used to not think so but ever since I got a job and I have less time to sit down and read they’ve been a life saver. I can listen to them while working and still consume books! They absolutely do count.

100% I sometimes have trouble sitting down and reading a book whether it’s a physical book or on my kindle. So audiobooks are an amazing alternative.
