I just went thrifting and found 14 original wheel of time hardcovers, I am obviously super excited but also a little sad that ones missing. They’re all in super great condition with protective covers too and a bunch are first printings

That’s iconic! If it makes you feel any better, it’ll be way easier to find the one that you’re missing now that you have the rest of your collection than starting one from scratch

I’d scour eBay. You don’t have to buy anything immediately but perhaps you’ll find a deal eventually

Absolutely! And there’s a bunch on pango for like 5 bucks and maybe in the future I’ll scoop one up, but I definitely want to try to find the other one in the wild first. I’ve been looking for a while in antique malls for just one of them and the sheer joy of finding 14 is gonna keep me going for a while

That’s such a mood lol, that’s how I feel about collecting the original cover mass market paperbacks. Can I ask how much the 14 cost? (no judgement, I’m just curious lol but you don’t have to answer if you’re not comfortable)

They were 12-18 each so it was 190 something with tax 🫣 honestly tho it was worth it and I’d do it again

no as you should! for hardcovers especially in good condition, like even ignoring the collector value. those are cheaper than paperback prices atp

I still can’t believe it haha, I’ve been looking in antique stores and old bookstores across the Midwest for literally months and didn’t find a single one
