I can agree with the top 3 but I feel ballad was very lack luster. So much of the book was internal monologue which is hard to capture in a movie.

Hello! I just started The Hunger Games and I’m a bit confused (on the third chapter of the second book so EARLY and + I’ve never even seen the movies so I’m going in blind LOL) is The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes not a part of the Hunger Games? Just asking as you put them in two different categories? Is it not counted? Kind of like how the Harry Potter fandom doesn’t really count Harry Potter and the Cursed Child? Sorry if this sounds stupid asf 💀

it’s kinda funny being able to tell who read the book vs who just watched the movie based on how they talk about Coriolanus. movie ppl are like “aw he’s so misunderstood!! he just loved Lucy gray poor boy ☹️” and book readers treat him like jigsaw

first off all, have fun reading, THG is peak. second of all, ballad is a part of a part of THG, but some people consider it in its own category because it’s a standalone prequel that’s a different tone + came out later than the other movies. imo it’s a pretty great book but some stuff doesn’t translate well in the movie adaptation

correction: it’s not really standalone but you can read/watch it and understand it without having the context of the rest of the series

Hi! The ballad is the prequel. I put them in different categories because I was referring to the first book in the series and then it’s prequel. That’s all. Thank you. Have fun reading the series. It’s gonna be a thrill.
