I love fantasy romance but I haven’t liked a lot of the really popular ones tbh. I think I’m having trouble finding my particular niche of fantasy romance

A romance subplot is always superior. It’s almost impossible to write mostly romance as the main storyline and make it compelling and not boring/rushed. There needs to be plot

^this!! I need a good balance between romance and plot for romantasy- and I find a lot of the popular ones (minus one dark window) to be lacking plot
