It follows the main character, Franny, who is tracking the last arctic ferns alive. She boards a fishing boat in order to follow them. The story alternates between tragic flashbacks of her life and the voyage that the boat is taking with its unique crew. It deals with topics like grief and climate change. Sorry if that isn’t the best summary but the writing is so good you should definitely read it!
