I think people sometimes forget how powerful stories can be. The emotions that we go through and the attachments we make with the characters are insane. And when we’re done we realize they’re not “real”. They’re stuck and gone. We can’t even thank them.
Yes!! After I finished All the Bright Places, I was noticeably depressed for a good week after. It was an amazing book, but it really took a toll on me:(

when i finished The Stranger by Albert Camus i cried for five minutes and had to sit on my floor alone for like half an hour because i felt so connected to it
