Hi this is an ableist and condescendingly semantic conversation that actually helps no one whatsoever and only hurts and divides our community. Maybe be a better person.
BRAILLE (touching with your fingers) isn’t the same as READING (something u do with your eyes). in a literal sense

hi op here, sorry if it wasn’t clear but my post was poking fun at the post I was quoting (because people 100% say they read braille) and pointing out that their argument is flawed and misses out on the nuance of language

Same with the audiobook post. They are scientifically found to be functionally the same in that you retain the same amount reading vs braille Vs listening. If THIS is what you want to argue about in a book community, you are only taking away from meaningful discourse and instead creating division. If I said I read a book and someone corrected me saying I actually listened to it, I would not talk to that person further. At all. Leave the childish semantics and need to be “right” in middle school.

I’m glad that it’s satire. The other one clearly wasn’t and yours was worded the same, so it seemed like it could be from the same person. Thanks for not being a POS. There are too many serious about nonsense like this for no reason other than to be superior.

yeah no I worded it the same to highlight the ridiculousness of the original post, but I can see how that wouldn’t come across via text. I’m absolutely baffled at people determined to gatekeep stories
