Yes 🫶. Honestly just block them, it’s not worth your time. There will always be some toxicity unfortunately, but I’ve gotten so many genuinely good recs off of here and it’s fun to see others’ shelves and stuff as well. I love scrolling through every so often and we need more harmless posts like yours.

you can, I think you came at a bad time sadly because a lot of weirdos were on and wanting to argue, so you got caught in the crossfire. I blocked a lot of people the past couple days, and I recommend doing the same for the people who used your post as ammunition :/

i meant what i said in my comments about the Dirty Air series. i read any and all genres as long as the back of the book interests me. that being said, i personally have had a hard time getting into Priory of the Orange Tree, and am wondering if it’s worth trying again? and The Talisman, is it worth trying again?

what’s your favorite sci fi novel? I hope this isn’t rude, just curious

How much of priory have you read? And what were your thoughts

I didn’t make it far at all in priory. It just didn’t click for me. But I’m thinking it might be something I need to try again this summer because I was stressed about college when I tried before.

If you’ve seen the posts about the problems with romance readers and “spicy” books, my post asking about the Dirty Air series was turned into an example then I tried to defend myself and what I read and it just became a whole thing.

I didn’t see it but that sounds awful

Priory took a while to click for me but I loved it, with that + you being stressed earlier I’d definitely recommend giving it another try

It was. Went as far as saying I was reading the series because of a trend because I asked if there were any F1 girlies in this group. I literally just read books that seem interesting to me and I like Formula 1🤷🏼‍♀️ I thought that was pretty simple.

I’m gonna try it again, but I don’t know when that’ll be because I have like 4 or 5 books ahead of it now😅

I truthfully haven’t read much science fiction. My favorite is Fahrenheit 451, though it’s classically considered science fiction but widely considered as dystopian. I prefer romance, classics, historical fiction. To Kill A Mockingbird has been my favorite book since second grade. My grandfather had me read it then and I try to read it at least once a year.

that’s fair. I mainly prefer science fiction when it comes to novels, especially stuff involving aliens!

TKAM is such a good book man. We just read it for one of my college classes

I had to read it in high school twice but I already had it memorized by then😂 I’m just a girl who bonded with her grandfather through books🤷🏼‍♀️
