but he doesn’t have to be completely apathetic. like at least feel love towards the romantic interest and not ONLY the need to own them. bro can be an evil person to everyone else and only have feelings for the romantic interest. that’s enough, but i’m tired of having to read dark romances when there isn’t even any “romance.” there’s a difference between unhinged and a psychopath and it’s driving me mildly insane that an unhinged person is almost always a psychopath with no true feelings

i said they could be evil in a comment and i said they didn’t need to be a good person. they could be a sociopath or just range on the spectrum of antisocial personality disorder… i just want some real emotion other than the possessive need to own someone just for their gain. psychopaths cannot feel real emotions and can’t feel love or sadness or empathy. this is why i say psychopath instead of evil. they can be as evil as possible (though i do have limits), but still feel some emotion.

psychopathy is a genetic disorder and people with it cannot change that part of themselves anymore than we can change our eye color. that is okay for real life people who don’t hurt others. it’s not anything they’ve done, but it is a disorder that isn’t formed by life events, you are born with it. a person can be evil without being a psychopath, just as a psychopath doesn’t have to be evil. either way, they can’t process emotions in the same way that the majority of humans experience it

Why are you trying to insert genuine psychology into your degenerate reading habits😭 if you want to read about 🍇, assault, murder, and stalking etc, just do that you don’t have to try to gain some moral high ground by rationalizing how disordered the main characters can be🙄
