FICTION can indeed make you feel emotions, and some scenes may be more triggering than others for some depending on their personal lives. i don’t read cheating but i love the taboo shit. it’s up to US the readers to curate.

It proves my point that harmful media can affect reality. 50 shades portrayed an inaccurate depiction of bdsm and caused wrongful practice in relationships and harm. And suicide rates went up after 13 reasons.

this dumbass idea that consuming a piece of fiction will automatically turn a normal person into an abuser is also a completely debunked psychological concept. people, esp healthy ppl, aren't mindless animals that just copy whatever they see on a screen without a single thought. media may normalize bad behavior culturally over time (ie: bride wars where the fmc stays with cheating fiancée) but it doesn't magically rewire a healthy brain to become a predator
