I’d say yes, but keep in mind that it’s not his strongest. You have to hang in there through books 1-2, but 3 is amazing. I also enjoyed the second series. It’s kinda unfair to have to read 2 to get to the good stuff, but it’s well worth it imo, and a lot of people actually like 1-2. I’d also say Stormlight is better and you can definitely start with it (I did) but a lot of people also say mistborn is better cause it’s shorter/simpler

I think I only bounced off the first books because I was expecting more of a heist cause that’s how it’s marketed, but it’s more overthrowing a regime kind of thing. Wasn’t bad but not what I was expecting

Mistborn isn’t his strongest? Elantris exists.

Yeah yeah first book published whatever, I think Mistborn is a hell of a lot better fantasy than Elantris though. The Final Empire is slow but it’s good and paced well

I wouldn’t say elantris is his strongest either, that goes to stormlight by far. I can’t speak to which is technically better between final empire and elantris because it’s so subjective, but I enjoyed elantris way more and am looking forward to the next book in that series more than ghostbloods

It’s all subjective, imo I think Elantris was paced way worse, BUT we barely know what the implications of Sel are and how this all works so there’s more room for stuff I’m excited for. Mistborn in my opinion is better just because he found his rhythm with pacing the story

Yeah that’s totally fair and i know a lot of others agree too. That’s why I’d recommend new Sanderson readers to start with mistborn or stormlight. I’ve read a lot of long winding series (cough cough WoT) so I’ve read worse pacing. And I think I just knew what I was getting into more with elantris than mistborn. I enjoy both tho and am excited for Sel to return as well
