It’s part of a bigger theme you can’t relate too. Sexual violence is often romanticized and it shouldn’t be. but it’s a very realistic thing that happens and reading books as the sort can let people who is experienced this feel that they’re not alone. You may not like it so just don’t read it, but to judge somebody else, not knowing their trauma isn’t it.

Victims of SA relate to like your example of Colleen Hoovers books. There’s a whole community of girls who sadly relate or have problem with stuff like this after assault it’s something I wish people considered instead of judging.

I mean talking about Colleen Hoover being glorified for the things she’s said outside of her writing and some of the shit she’s written in some other books, not simply the plot or theme of it ends with us (which is what I’m assuming you’re defending)

genuinely don’t see the problem considering its fake literature. some books have uncomfortable themes. the problem is when people can’t separate fiction from reality. let people read what they want. i think it’s only a problem when they try to romanticize it. reading a book doesn’t immediately mean someone agrees with the content🙄

That’s isn’t what people are talking about. Also the way she was moving when she got a movie deal, all of it she’s just a shitty person who happened to be ONE of the authors who connected with an extremely sensitive and very vulnerable part of some peoples actual lives.

My whole point is not judging people for liking the books though that’s my point. I don’t know a lot about the author but judging someone for liking the books is just off to me. Hate the author all you want but don’t judge others who read her books.

Difference between finding community in a traumatic tragic thing and glorifying Colleen Hoover. She also describes a CHILDs genitalia in another one of her books so yes I’m judging tf out of people that enjoy that and people that glorify her as an author just cause of ONE of the other things she depicted. I hear you but ur missing the entire point of the people ur arguing with.
