Book Review #3: The Shadow of What Was Lost by James Islington! 3.25/5 ⭐️ This is the first book in a trilogy, and I think it is a really good intro to this world that the author has built. Now, I did had a nice time reading it (Cont. Below)But, my biggest problem with the book is the characters. They aren’t annoying or bad or anything like that. It’s just, for me, they didn’t really have a memorable personality. The magic system is pretty interesting, but nothing special imo. The book does deal with visions of the future, and some timey wimey stuff, which does open some interesting thoughts on free will, and how people cope with that. Overall, it wasn’t the most gripping read for me, and I did feel that a few points were rushed,
