And the age gap is huge and/or he’s literally her principal/professor and she’s like late teens VERY early adulthood type and can’t do anything herself

You should check out 2077: No Coincidence sometime. I wouldn’t say there’s a true lead but I found the female team members to be strong. Helps to have either seen Edgerunners or played Cyberpunk but I think orients pretty well regardless imo.

They can just be oversexualized, focused on the wrong things (like getting laid when she’s supposed to be dead set on finding her brothers killer) too much focus put on certain body parts, or just “too weak” to do certain things. I can accept a woman not being able to swing a huge sword or something without a lot of training, but she can still be intelligent and able to outthink certain situations instead of bumbling around looking for a man to save her.

But don’t get me wrong, as a woman I’ve read dozens of epic fantasy series and there are plenty men who can actually write women. My two favorite gals from books were actually written by men - Nynaeve and Nona Grey

Also the voice actor for V from the game narrated the audio book and I could listen to her read the phone book tbr
