Yeah. My other problem that people call anything dark romance (marketing Alchemised as a dark romance is doing a disservice to the book, it’s a war story)

I love well done dark romance (where the themes/ setting are dark or horrory, but the romance itself is not) but a lot of popular rapey, hate to love, bully romance type books have skewed the meaning. Which sucks bc I feel like if I say I like dark romance, people will assume I’m talking Haunting Adeline when really I mean Soul of a Witch.

I agree, I was just traumatized by a dark romance book but just ask chat gbt if the book ur about to read is a dark romance. it won’t give u any spoilers it will just let u know if its considered dark or not and simply why
