The tall, dark, and handsome male leads with tattoos and shadow powers who always seem to be “misunderstood”. Basically the direct result of Acotar’s popularity. It seems like every other romantasy/fantasy has a Rhysand knockoff now.

Not really brooding, mostly just “morally grey” in a really shallow, poorly written way. They always seem to be the “bad guy” but in reality it’s just a misunderstanding. And then the fmc falls in love with him. They just always seem to look the same and resemble Rhysand coincidentally.

I hate the copy paste shadow daddies bc I actually love when it’s well done but so many feel the same 😭 I need to write my trans shadow king book but I’m in the middle of Another Book 😔
