How do you donate books? Libraries in my area are super picky and we don’t really have a free books spot. I’ve tried reselling but the second-hand bookshop is such a scam that I’d rather donate

if you want to try, you can resell on facebook marketplace but it’s like a 1/10 chance it’ll actually work out or most cities have at least one Little Free Library you can drop your books off at I’d recommend finding a local bookstore to donate to or a thrift store: being able to find books that are good or kind of recognizable at a thrift store as someone who couldn’t afford regular prices it’s a huge blessing otherwise see if ur friends/neighbors want to do a book swap

i had this exact same problem a while ago. i had a bunch of books i wanted to get rid of, so i asked around at my local schools and some wanted to take mine! keep looking and dont get discouraged if your first tries say no (mine did too). i also vacation in a different state often and i knew the library in the area there always took donations so i brought a box with me on my trip!

If you only have a few, look up your local little free library, though I’d recommend maybe writing “LFL” or something on the edges to deter resellers. If you have a bunch, I know goodwill takes boxes. They are also kinda a scam because they’ll turn around and up the price, but they’re not picky and will take anything. Some grocery stores and places also have bins in the parking lot to dump books/clothes for the needy. Or you could always open a pango store where you can set your own prices

Some destroyed our free drop box library thingy. So now I sell my books on Pango Books

I’ll look if there’s a LFL close by. Do you mean actual thrift stores that sell anything? The thrift bookstore here buys them for like $2 and resell for almost full price if they’re new and popular enough, that’s why I don’t go there anymore, it’s a terrible deal for both me and the next reader
