It’s the dumbest thing ever. Like I have an English MA but because I also enjoy spicy romance I’m suddenly contributing to the literacy crisis? Absolutely not. Reading is reading and you benefit from it regardless of genre. I encourage range, but also, when you only have so much time in the day, read what you enjoy. Preferences do not make anyone stupid or addicts. Elitism is exhausting.
