okay, i read a lot of romance books, but i’d like to get into other stuff. looking for suggestions! i don’t like horror, so no horror suggestions please!

I would suggest dabbling into other genres while still keeping a romantic subplot to keep your interest. Historical fiction: Kristen Hannah books such as the nightingale or the great alone, Taylor Jenkins Reid books, the things we cannot say. Fantasy: six of crows, the everlasting, yumi and the nightmare painter. Lit fiction: tom lake, the bright years, the wedding people.

If you're into some fantasy with an excellent romance I recommend The Everlasting, best book I've read this year

It’s a bit specific, but I love the Samantha Moon series. She’s a vampire and a PI - lots of books, a couple other connected series… basically, just a lot of world to dive into if you enjoy it.

Any specific non fiction topics? I don’t read a ton of non fiction, but everything is tuberculosis by John green was decently educating without being dry. I also personally recommend disability visibility, it’s a collection of essays from different disabled view points/ voices. I have a friend that only reads nonfiction tho so if you have specific topics, I can ask if he has any recs

I’m really into history. I’ve always had a fascination with different wars. I have a really weird fascination with the German Battleship, The Bismarck, though I blame Johnny Horton for that.

I don’t know how into fantasy I am. I tried to read Priory of the Orange Tree(i was influenced by a friend and TikTok) and just couldn’t get into it.

My friend recommends Dead wake. It’s about the sinking of the Lusitania during world war 1. The author Erik Larson has several other popular non fiction narrative books about history as well.
