Considering how young women are groomed from a very young age into falling in love with men who are “unattractive,” I don’t think women would stop loving Haunting Adeline if even if Zade was unattractive. Look at how popular phantom of the opera is.

Women are not groomed to fall in love with men who are unattractive. They are groomed to fall in love with men in general. And that usually involves media portraying handsome men. People who love HA likely would regardless of societal pressures, considering it is very much not the norm in media. Y’all are having the weirdest takes surrounding this book.

Dude. It’s literally the truth. I can name multiple movies where a woman falls in love with a hideous guy. The same cannot otherwise be said.

People’s definition of attractive is extremely subjective. And not every piece of media is grooming. Like pls. This has really nothing to do with HA or book club.

Bro. There are people talking about how haunting Adeline would be less popular if Zade was unattractive. So, yeah this does involve book club. get off your ass.

Bruh. Sit down. There are multiple books for young girls where they are taught to fall in love with someone regardless of looks (beauty and the beast case in point).

And I found the beast way more attractive than the guy he turned into. The point is falling in love for reasons beyond looks. I’m way more worried about sleeping beauty, Snow White, etc and the narratives they drive over one “ugly” man. This is still a weird as fuck take.

So, a lot of people are already petitioning for this shit-ass movie not to even take place when the book is already problematic. And we’re arguing against the movie. I’m just pointing out how women unfortunately would still support the movie even if Zade was unattractive. Touch some grass.

I’m not the one who needs to go outside. This is such a non issue when there are bigger problems with the book than how hot Zade is. But it’s also fiction. And people know fiction versus reality and can decide for themselves what to consume. So idk. Maybe stop posting the same HA rage 3x a day.
