Mockingjay looking barely touched is so real tbh. I understand all the commentary and messaging but it just didn’t hook me like the other two

Catching Fire was literally peak. I loved the larger scaled politics while still keeping the inclusion of the games. I remember being in 3rd grade and binge reading the entire book in one day so that I could go with my mom to see the movie. This, The Giver, and The Order of the Phoenix were my three favorite books from Elementary School.

Same for prim’s. I remember literally just putting my head down and sitting in silence for 20 mins while my family was very concerned for me lol

Read the books gang you won’t regret it. It’s a good story there’s a reason it pushed so many YA dystopian movies to get live action adaptations. It’s been a long time since I’ve watched the movies but from my memory the books were a lot different from the movie. There was a lot of significance behind specific characters deaths that the movie kinda skimmed over. A lot less details of Haymitch (it’s been a long time but I think that’s his name) are in the movies than the books.

Also, if I remember correctly, Katnis spends a much longer time district 13 in the book than in the movies. They’re all really short books. If you tend to read daily or every other day, you should be able to finish the entire series in a week. You have to remember it’s a YA novel while reading it so a lot of dialogue might seem immature, when in reality the author is just writing for the target demographic.

“Catching Fire” is insanely valuable now because it teaches kids how to have private conversations when they’re surrounded by recording devices

I’ve only seen the first movie, but like always, the books are better. They’re quick easy reads, especially once you get in stride. As horrible as it sounds, the books really pick up when they get to the games. I highly recommend, I reread them last year and I thought they still held up
