Is anyone slightly nervous for The Odyssey movie this summer with the way that Wuthering Heights and Frankenstein has been received?

Withering heights cannot be called a book adaptation and I will die on that hill. It’s a fanfic that honestly seems more inspired by princess bride than the actual source material

i actually think the odyssey movie will be much more story accurate than frankenstein or wuthering heights. and also i have much lower expectations for the odyssey movie than frankenstein or wuthering heights.

I’m hopeful for the plot, but whoever they’ve hired for history and to make the props needs to be blacklisted

Frankenstein was not good. As a movie good. As an adaptation. No. Based on how these movies are being cast, I think they’re already doomed tbh

I never read the book, but after reading the plot online and comparing it with the plot of the movie (which I also haven’t seen, but read a summary of) HOLY SHIT it’s fanfic coded! It should have been like a 50 Shades of Grey situation. Like, if they just changed the names, I bet it would have been a hit

Yeah they could’ve kept the same plot and changed the names of everyone and no one would have realized it was a fanfic

The director who directed this also did salt burn and she needs to be blacklisted already both of those were awful
