I feel like Ted Dekker fits this, if I recall from my younger reading!!

It’s not. I’m 20 and I read adult romance and dark romance. My older cousin doesn’t want her 12 year old daughter reading the same books that she and I read.

Would’ve been funny though

I mean, I’ll probably also read some of the books, to be able to talk about them with her, but I also really enjoy finding things for her that I haven’t read because she LOVES to tell people about her latest read. I got her Better Than The Movies, and her mom is about to get her Nothing Like The Movies before they go on vacation because she’s grounded from her electronics for the foreseeable future🤦🏼‍♀️

Thats rad! Unfortunately I pretty much only read nerdy fantasy so I can’t recommend much. It’s not romance but if you’ve never read The Little Prince that’s good for all ages and it’s my favorite book.

I’ll look into it! I’m mostly looking for romance, but she is interested in Harry Potter(her mom and I are very excited about that), so I’m also looking for similar things, but her primary favorite genre is romance.

Idk about romance because I’m not really a romance reader and I also wasn’t as a kid but some recs if she likes Harry Potter: Percy Jackson (or any of the other Rick riordan series), keeper of the lost cities, divergent, the hunger games. In terms of romance: the fault in our stars

Have her check out Lynn Painter (Better than the Movies, etc) for romance!! I’ve also heard the Mirror Visitor Quartet has a fantastic slow burn romance.

you’re good! i’ll probably look into more Lynn Painter for her! i ended up sending about 20 book recs to her mom. i had to add The Outsiders cause it’s one of my favorites but i think she’ll end up having to read it in school.
