Review #6: Assassin’s Apprentice by Robin Hobb!!! 4/5 ⭐️ This is my first more serious/darker book. And I really really enjoyed the journey. You get to see the MC grow from a boy, into a young man, and you can see how he evolves (Cont. Below)

And changes as a character. While it does seem like there is going to be a lot of Assassin-ing by the title, I do have to say that there isn’t a lot of action. That was not a negative for me, as the characters felt like their own people, and it is a very character focused book. This is actually the first book in a while, wear I shed a couple of tears. I still vividly remember the final line of the last chapter, before the epilogue. The only reason this isn’t higher, is bc I did have to take some

Ahhh I’ve been reading assassins apprentice and it’s so good so far. God tier character work, I can tell I’m gonna love this. Will you continue the series?

I forgot the name of it but I think he has a pirate series. Do you know if that’s any good? Are his fantasy books “trope soup” or are they actually decent at world building

Breaks from reading, as it can be pretty difficult to see any light at the end of the tunnel sometimes. You should definitely read this if you are looking for something pretty grounded, without being super grimdark. Just be prepared, bc our Fitz is going to have a bit of a rough time. Till next time!!!

Oh yeah, definitely! I actually started the second book, but Libby only let me take out a trilogy bundle, so I didn’t have time to finish it. Well, maybe if i rushed it, but i honestly needed a palate cleanser after the first book lol. Needed something lighter to reset

I think she does have a series like that…. It might be set in this same series, bc there are like, 13 books that connect, just separated into different trilogies and a quartet I think. From just the first book I read, she’s really good at making the world feel real, and this book didn’t feel cliche at all
