Book Club on Yik Yak | Extremely hot take. But sunrise on the reaping was not even half as good as The Ballad of Songbirds and snakes or Catching Fire. It was just ok. Most of the book was just nothing. And then the last 50 pages felt rushed.

I wanted to like it so bad. I feel like they didn’t go in depth with the last bit of the story. I would have preferred if they focused more on what happened after rather than before the quarter quell.

It was probably the best blockbuster release so far in the year though. Onyx Storm ended up being a flop so bad that diehard fans were returning it. Anyways. SotR was a 3/5 for me 👍 it was pretty good but not great by hunger games standards

Keep in mind. Until a week or so before the release I hadn’t read the books. I binged them all at once so I feel like it gave me a different perspective of the new one. The character quality and depth feels much shallower than the other books, and there is none of what I loved about her writing from the other prequel. Haymitch just felt like a bland placeholder, and didn’t even feel like the same person even when he was post games in SoTR. Honestly disappointed

People are allowed to enjoy the stupid and fun lit (sorry os fans pls don’t kill me) and still have opinions. You can throughly enjoy something and still knows there’s better stuff out there
