Just finished Mistborn: The Final Empire and holy sh*t this book is flawless! It deserves more than 5 ⭐️. The best book I have read in a while and I’m obsessed. I need the next one now….

I can’t say I agree with the 5 star rating. It’s 3 stars at best🫡. Personally the trilogy gets better with every book after TFE and I’m currently on The Hero of Ages.

There was this YA series I read way back called the Unwind series. It was great from what I can recall but might not be considered fantasy. There’s the Daevabad trilogy which is like a middle eastern fantasy with political intrigue. I’m currently reading the Grace of Kings from the Dandelion Dynasty series(so good) Those 3 are really amazing

I can see why it’s popular and it had some high points when I read it a couple of weeks ago but I think there’s better. I’m glad you’re enjoying the series tho!

The lord ruler had way more lip service than anything. He should’ve been built up a bit more. Elend fuckinh sucks in the first books and he’s purely there to serve as a romantic plot device. The romance too was just poorly shoved in. There wasn’t enough differentiation/class distinction between Skaa and Nobles. Like why was there such a dichotomy in the first place? When the Lord Ruler finally died it didn’t feel earned. The side characters were one dimensional as well

Yeah that’s fair it’s still so good though (I had just finished it when I made this post so I was on the ‘just finished a good book high’)
