i can understand that when you just want to read one book and move on and it turns out it’s a series so you feel obligated to continue the series (kinda like no longer a mood read and now it’s an assignment (even if it ends up being enjoyable!))

Any particular reason?

I do the same thing when a series is to long or all the books in the sierra are the exact same

I get that. Some series I don’t finish while others I wish I could read for the first time again

i especially dislike it when i can’t read a bunch of books on my shelf bc it’s the beginning to a series but i don’t have access to the rest of the series so i have to let that book collect dust (im not going to start if i can’t continue)

also (like some movies) the first was good but it was good alone and then adding to it ended up ruining it

i feel like To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before (movie i mean bc haven’t read books) was great but then it goes downhill bc you start to bring in other romance and jealousy and toxicity and then the couple you thought you liked makes you want to die
