Do I really need an e-reader? Is there a specific reason why I should get one instead of just reading e-books on my phone?

-preserving the battery on your expensive phone (and thus maybe delaying supporting the horrendous labor practices that go into making a smartphone for another year or so) -less eye strain (could potentially be way better for your eye health long term) -fewer distractions/mode switching

Personally I’m very happy not spending $100+ for yet another thing I’ll have to worry about/keep on me. Depends on how necessary you feel it is, but I’d say try Apple Books or the kindle unlimited app or something, and if you’re dissatisfied then swing for an e reader

I like my e reader for trips and vacations where I’ll be reading outside a lot due to the lack of screen glare, but otherwise use my phone app. You don’t NEED both as the apps work just as well on phone vs kindle etc, but if you find yourself wanting a bigger screen, no glare, a separate battery for travel, etc then e readers are nice.

amazing battery life (literally lasts a month without having to recharge), no glare so you can read in the sun, easier to grip depending on the previous device you were reading on, plus very portable
