As someone who was very much looking forward to it and got an Advance reader’s copy. It was genuinely so dogshit. It’s incredibly insensitive towards the topics of genocide and the mc is a blatant copy of previous YA characters. I now fully believe it was AI generated.

I definitely think most of them are paid for. The other ARC reviews I saw all were overwhelmingly positive, most of the time that’s indicative of the publisher paying people to read and review the book.
