Ours were 5 hours or more, usually 6-8 hours. I would say be prepared that it’s not the cozy job you expected, it’s gonna be he’ll come the holidays and it really isn’t just sitting behind a counter reading a book. We were never allowed to sit around, stand and talk, or slack off. Maybe it’s different depending on the store. I remember early in the job I hated it and almost quit but I’m glad I pushed through. I miss it sometimes

I have 3 bachelors degrees and several years of high specialized professional animal care work. I needed a side job for extra income. Being over qualified is actually pretty common. Lots of people get turned down for jobs because of it
