This whole first person v. third person debate has made me realize that I don't think I've read a book in third person POV in a hot second (two years?) and that I need to step outside of my normal genres more often

I think it all depends on how well the pov is done. First person can be cringe or really immerse you. Third person can be overwhelming or it can give you all the info you need
