I feel like unless it’s like a doctors office or a funeral or something really serious then it doesn’t matter where just ask the girl out. Like you could get approached anywhere at any time and there are sometimes where it might just be a little inappropriate but if that’s the case just apologize and say you didn’t know or something like just go for it
In all fairness, the thing that likely brought this on was you saying “any place is appropriate.” #9 was bringing up an absurd hypothetical to point out that there are, in fact, places where this would be inappropriate. If you don't want people bringing up absurd hypotheticals, avoid speaking in absolutes unless you are 100% sure that the statement is true in all circumstances. Also this exchange was very amusing
There’s nothing wrong with asking someone out in a book store and there will always be people who have atypical reactions but there’s no way to truly identify those people and so saying don’t talk to me in a public place is just not a good thing to say to people asking if they can talk like guys are either terrible or scared to talk because they are scared of getting accused of shit and so discouraging them to do normal non invasive things like just ask someone out at a bookstore is just dumb
