Romance *should* be whatever you enjoy! There are many great enemies to lovers where hate isn’t really a factor, and there are many where the starting point being mutual rivalry is the point—the journey of learning respect for one another, etc. If it’s not for you, you def don’t have to read it!

I love enemies to lovers where there's some anger, miscommunication, grumpiness, and hurt feelings, but ultimately respect, love, and adoration 🫶 I'm not a fan of male characters that just treat the mc like shit for 400 pages

Maybe it’s just the books I’ve read but I feel like they aren’t so much enemies and more rivals to lovers. I’ve never read something that was super angry or hateful. I don’t think I’d continue reading if so
