Desperately trying to fight off the “are they love interests?” Questions from ppl in my creative writing class about the literal cousins in my novel (they were INTRODUCED as being related)
Trying to fight of the “are they love interests” question when I show people ANY of my writing (why is it assumed that romance is a necessity no matter the genre)

It’s actually so gross. People tend to brush aside the rise of smut and porn-culture as nothing but this is an example of it being more normalized. Everything becomes sexualized

I keep getting this with characters I write specifically as platonic or sibling-coded. Go as far as to have them call each other siblings and I still get the “they would make a cute couple” crap

Some people are just into that bro 😭 it really sucks bc 99.99% of the time it makes the creator super uncomfortable and they can’t just… be normal about it. Have to go and make everything weird
