I just saw someone on booktok (go figure) say that they don’t read books written by cis men because they don’t believe men have the emotional capacity to write women… at all… I’m not a man. I’m not defending men. But that’s RIDICULOUS

Oh I’m not saying that men are always good at it by ANY means. I read a lot of comics, and it’s very clear who the good male writers are compared to the sexist ones. But in very rare cases, you have someone like Tom Taylor who wrote one of the most beautiful coming-of-age stories where the two main women learn about the world together and from each other (Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow). So it really irks me when someone says that men can’t write women at all no exceptions

Oh yes! I’ve definitely read GREAT books by male authors doing women POVs, but it’s always a proceed with caution for me at first
