Is it just me or do you guys physically push through a book you hate just because you want to give it a chance and not DNF it?

The only reason I push through and read it all is so that I can be a professional hater and bring reasons and evidence as to why it was an awful book

A coworker that I respect lent me a book and said it was their favorite ever and I had to read it, I wanted to dnf so bad but pushed through because I’ve had it forever and didn’t want to give it back unfinished 😬

Sometimes. But once I was reading a book (Lore, actually), looked up at my partner and said “I’m supposed to like it by chapter 15, right?” And he took it away lol. My next read ended up become my all time favorite and sent me down a path of restoring my love for the genre and reading in general. So now I don’t really waste my time

SAME. I have like 5 unfinished books because they’re so hard to get through but I don’t want to be like, “I DNF that book”

It’s okay queen!! But like I have to admit, I was just waiting for Luc to arrive and was dreading the flashbacks that ended with “he never showed”

That’s fair. I didn’t really care much for Luc aside from the idea of whether or not his “love” was still manipulation or not (fascinating character, did not like him as a person) but I definitely started flying through the book more once Henry remembered Addie and I felt more things were being uncovered and progress was being made
