I need some words of motivation. I have over 400 books but I am moving soon so I have to get rid of a lot. I’m finding it pretty difficult to do that :(
any tips? My goal was to have a library someday so it’s hard.
What if, to narrow it down, you only get rid of books that you didn’t like that much. I also want my own home library, but with the exception that every single one of the books in there is near and dear to me

What is the reason you can’t keep the books? Because maybe there is a way not to have to get rid of them.

I was trying to think of it, but I’m moving from the suburbs with my parents to the city by myself. There’s just not enough square footage in my budget.

Can you leave some at home until you get a bigger place?

I was thinking the same thing, or otherwise maybe see if you can get a cheap storage unit somewhere for a bit? I don’t think your parents should mind you leaving some at home though

They are allowing me to leave some home under the condition that I at least try to get rid of some. I’m trying to get rid of around 50 books. Most were obtained at free book bins and rummage sales so they aren’t popular. I just love them.

I’m opening an indie bookstore in my college town. If you wanted to donate some of the ones you’re getting rid of, I would pay shipping cost for them! Sorry you’re in a place where you have to let some go.

That’s actually exactly that I’m doing! Just hard to get rid of the physical books since I’ve always had the goal to have a library.

That sounds perfect! I’ll reach out once I figure out some more
