does anyone do rebindings? i wanna learn how to do it and making the covers is my biggest worry bc i dont have a cricket. is there another way to make it?

Yes! You can design a cover on canva/some other design space and print it to the book size (and a little extra space for allowance) on some heavier paper with a print shop. Then use glue (not too much) to attach it to the boards like normal. You could also just make dustjackets the same way, just adding size for the flaps, and not have to worry about ruining any books. I’ve also seen people use foil pens where you lay a piece of foil and trace over it with the pen but honestly it looks sloppy.

I do have a cricut tho, if moneys the issue I use a cricut joy which is much smaller but much cheaper. You have to be more creative about the pieces you use and have to work more to line things up cause you can’t print in one big piece, but it does still work, though I’ve found the best results with the cricut brand vinyl. It goes on sale quite frequently at Michael’s and I’ll pick up a whole bunch

And I probably should’ve mentioned earlier, I learned by watching abound bindery on YouTube. She has some great tutorials and I think she actually has a video with ways to make covers without a cricut. Sorry for the information overload and good luck! It’s a very fun hobby
