I want to start reading books after 10 years and I don’t know where to start. I used to like murder mystery and science fiction but I was also 12 lol so any recommendations for authors or young adult books. I do like romance and drama for movies

Yall beat me to it, I was gonna suggest some agatha christie. I will say (in my humble and 100% correct opinion), the adventures of sherlock holmes is fantastic so you should also totally read that

Going with the Agatha Christie comments, Murder on the Orient Express is just such a great nostalgic book to read

Perhaps Eragon? Although it might be wise to make a slow return with shorter books, so perhaps not. I'm interested in fantasy and many of my recommendations lie there. If you would like some fantasy recs, please let me know!

THE HUNGER GAMES I will always recommend that series to anyone! It’s mostly dystopian future, but there is a bit of romance in there. It is basically my favorite book series, and I would HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend it!

Agatha Christie’s got some good murder mysteries. as for sci-go, i love Andy weir’s stuff. The Martian and project Hail Mary are amazing.

Going with the YA aspect, i can’t recommend the Percy Jackson series more than anything. I love it so much! The Og and the series that branch from it Rick Riordan is an amazing author!

also, a great YA sci-if/fantasy series with romance is the lunar chronicles. Illuminae is also YA sci-fi and it’s super cool bc it uses multi media formats to tell the story. Because of that I think it’s also an easier read.
