What are the benefits of a Kindle over the ebooks and audiobooks I get using the Libby app? I’ve never had a Kindle so idk much features besides it being a tablet for books. What benefits does it offer that makes it better? Genuinely asking

If youre someone who reads 2+ books a month you will make your money back on kindle unlimited. I hate amazon and authors get jack shit from it but from the consumer end its cheap. I wouldnt say theres any benefit over libby worth the $12/13 if youre already comfortable with libby since libby is free but you never need to wait for a book, theres no time limit to read it, and you can hold 20 in your library at a time so even if something gets removed from KU if its in your library you keep access

You can look up definitions by highlighting a word. You can highlight phrases and add notes to them and they get saved (plus synced to Goodreads, if you use that). You can read at night without a light. You can change the front and its size to what’s most comfortable. Brightness and tone, too.

I use mine to pirate every single book I have on it. It practically paid for itself 4 times over atp

I have a kindle Paperwhite and the e-ink screen is definitely easier on the eyes than using the Libby app on a phone or tablet.

Until you return it. Id really only recommend it over libby if youre someone who burns through books quickly enough to need to avoid waiting to receive it, or to have multiple on deck
