I think the era of meaningful teen dystopia has ended. For the most part you’re right it’s the same stuff rehashed

I think it is still a good genre but very over saturated, the story can’t just be “they fall in love and overthrow the government, the end.” Because those are everywhere now, there has to be something that makes it new and exciting to read.

i never read dystopians as a kid so it's very alive and well with me rn, especially since maze runner is back on netflix 😭
