I always get so conflicted about reading popular books. One one hand they rarely appeal to me, but on the other I get so curious about them and wonder what all the fuss is about

I get a lot of them from the library, especially audiobooks via Libby specifically to listen to while doing chores so I don’t care as much if I zone them out for a bit

I mostly read fantasy or romance, and love them when they’re combined. I liked An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir, The City of Brass by S. A. Chakraborty, and Crier’s War by Nina Varela. I hated Captive Prince by C. S. Pacat and Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas. I was kinda iffy on A Court of Thorns and Roses also by Sarah J. Maas.
