They’re either lying or not reading every single word on the page, bc no way you’re CONSISTENTLY (key word, consistently) reading a book a day. Have I read some books in one sitting before? Yes. Does this happen most of the time? No 😭

No girl they are just obsessed with the books they are reading and can read faster than we do so that makes them more invested in finishing the book

I can read like 1000 pages in a day if I just sit down and read, but if I do that it takes me a few weeks to pick up another book

I can easily read most books in a day while working full-time (also possible while at school just harder). I honestly just read very quickly. I prefer ebooks, so I read during my commute (public transportation), during my 15-minute breaks and lunch break, and then after making dinner / other chores. I don’t do this everyday bc sometimes I go out with friends etc., but if I have an evening free of other plans it’s totally doable to finish anything under 500 pages

Exactly like do they not eat, cook, shower, etc? I love reading but sometimes I have to take breaks. I like going at my own pace and really digest the words and the story.

Yes exactly!! Like I need to take breaks and also like to have time to actually connect with the story. Only certain books have been able to hook me in enough to where I physically couldn’t put it down, but it’s def not the majority. If you’re speed reading just to reach an arbitrary number read, you’re missing out on so much

Yeah but a 400+ book a day seems unbelievable

I mean it’s definitely doable for me if I have a down day. Unless it’s like nonfiction or has super small text, I can usually average ~100 pages an hour, and even when I have work, four hours at night isn’t unheard of unless I have a ton of errands to run

Girl speaking of late night errands I wish there was a Walmart near me that was still open 24 hours

I mean, thinking of the time spent on social media each day the average is like 2-3 hours. It takes me like 4-ish hours to finish a 400 page book and I mostly read on my phone, so that’s just another 1-2 hours I need to find time for.

And yes I do actually read and absorb what I’m reading. Reading speed and comprehension is literally my only skill

It absolutely baffles me when people assume fast reading = poor comprehension like heaven forbid people read at different speeds 😭
