i mean it doesn’t hurt to simply type of “spoiler warning” on any video or post or what not… just because a book came out years ago does not mean that that person was a reader when it came out (they’ve couldve just gotten into reading, or even changed from age categories) i feel like with anything it does not hurt to simply say or type spoiler warning
Yeah 6 months is fair , because it’s not your responsibility to shelter others from that knowledge adults should be capable of starting to read a paragraph and determine “oh I want to read that let me not finish reading this post “. I’m also a big believer that if a book is good it withstands you reading it multiple times even knowing the reveals at the ends. If I managed to avoid spoilers for 4th wing for 2 years
idk I’ll put big spoiler warnings in perpetuity tbh, especially because some people out here dropping massive spoilers in the first sentence. it’s just the kind thing to do imo, like not everyone has time to read new releases right away and it doesn’t impact me at all to warn about spoilers
I do that too I actively watch review videos to see if a book seems interesting enough to read . Sometimes depending on the spoiler it makes me actually want to read the book. sometimes a popular book sounds so generic and its plot reminds you of 5 other teen books and you think it’s popular because it’s target audience is people fresh out of HS who have never had a spicy read and the spoiler is the only part that adds layer to the read and I’m always like I’ll give it a chance.
not really?? it’s totally normal to want to see others’ opinions about (books, tv shows, movies, etc) before you try them. that’s part of the consumer process. media is expensive (both time wise and money wise) so of course people are going to want to make informed decisions about what they consume
