It so exhausting to work then come home to read. I like to read in the morning’s but work is so exasperating that I don’t anymore. My next book is Sleeping Beauties. It will take a while but I’m excited.

Genuine question, why not? It’s not like you’re working 24/7

I don’t understand why ppl are downvoting because I meant it as a genuine question. You can make time to read in a day if you don’t have things to do outside of work (like hw etc which considering that it’s summer you probably don’t)

some people are busy man. I don’t know OP’s situation so I can’t comment, but working every day (say 6 hours- 5 hours and an hour lunch break) plus an hour of commuting time plus an hour to get ready in the morning plus two hours in the evening for food (preparing, meal prep for next day, eating), plus an hour for misc errands and chores, plus eight hours for sleep. That’s 19 hours. And they say they’re taking summer classes which could easily account for the other five

but even if they don’t, it’s tiring to work and go to class and take care of yourself as a human being, a bitch can be tired and when I’m tired it’s hard for me to focus on a book. and I also didn’t include any social activities with friends or family. life can be busy and unfortunately that can come at the expense of reading time

I downvoted you because you were being very pretentious with,”Well, I can read even while working so you’re just making excuses” while not thinking about any other commitments, struggles, or just fatigue this person might have. It’s also just unnecessary to get on their case about something that’s for leisure, imo

I did see in your other comment you said “if you don’t have other things like homework” but that was never mentioned to begin with, and my second point still stands.

Okay that’s fair enough, I really didn’t mean to come over as aggressive. I just felt like personally even though I’m working I have more time than during the school year yk? But yeah ofc other ppl have struggles that I don’t know about so I should be nicer
