Ok but let’s be real, people start noticing how bad the books are AFTER they get adapted. Some of y’all just don’t pause and reflect long enough to realize when the books you read are objectively horrible lmao

Really?! I’ve never read the book but I really enjoyed the movie! I’m assuming the book is way better.

Hey leave heated rivalry out of this!!! We need all the queer romance adaptations we can get and the show was very fun

The housemaid was fun too, but only bc Amanda Seyfried crushed it. Sydney Sweeney was a brick

maybe i’m too “woke” but i think its kind of weird when straight women write about queer relationships between men🤷‍♀️ the show was a lot better bc it was written and directed by a gay man and he cut out alottt of cringy scenes and dialogue from the book

and it that’s why we have “wuthering heights” now which is apparently a friends to lovers romance 🤦🏾‍♀️

Not too woke to be skeptical, but it’s only really an issue when the author is fetishizing the characters and speaks over people who identify as the characters do, which Rachel Reid has no history of at all. I do try and stock my bookstore with mm written by gay men, but some of the favorites are by women which is okay too! No one knows how most authors identify personally and they shouldn’t have to out themselves to be considered “okay.” They just should be respectful.

I remember being recommended the Game Changers series in 2021 like it was God’s gift to mlm romance
